The Deputy Commissioner will work in close coordination with other offices and divisions within HPD, and in partnership with the New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), New York City Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and other City, federal, and state agencies on policy matters, funding programs, budgeting, Requests for Proposals, pre-development, and co-financing for such projects.
The Deputy Commissioner will have responsibility for managing engagement and negotiations with developers, lenders, and other development partners from the private and non-profit sectors. The Deputy Commissioner will also contribute to and at times lead development of agency strategy and public policy on such topics as new financing models for broadening and deepening affordability, housing the formerly homeless, supporting affordable home ownership, and expanding the City’s support of mixed-use, mixed-income projects.
