    2023 Fall Panel

Many U.S. cities struggle to combat homelessness, and in New York City in particular, the state of homelessness has reached crisis level. With the number of unhoused individuals and families at the highest levels since the Great Depression of the 1930san influx of nearly 100,000 migrants within the past year, and a struggling shelter system, New York City needs an intervention.  What happens when a city that is legally obligated to provide shelter runs out of shelter?

Join Women in Housing and Finance’s panel of experts for a discussion regarding New York's homelessness and increasing migrant crisis and explore ways to shore up an overburdened shelter system, including the conversion of under-utilized hotel and office space into affordable housing.
